This is the day a lot of Chattanooga and the surround areas felt like the world ended...I'm so incredibly thankful that my friends and family were not hurt in the storms and that the damage to homes of the people I know is fixable. I'm praying for those who lost everything.
So here's the story. The forecast said there would be 3 big storms today. One in the morning, one early afternoon and one around 6-8pm. We were at work when the 1st one hit. The power went out pretty quick, then we watched the wind sweep signs, trees and portions of our roof away. After the 1st storm was over we checked the weather and knew we had about 2-3 hours to do what we needed to do and get to shelter again. My whole family and pets went to Mom and Dad's house. While there, we (and Ken, a friend of Dad's visiting from Minnesota) walked around the neighborhood looking at the damage the 1st storm had made, then we bunkered down with flashlights and headlamps for storm 2 and 3. Storm 2 brought a little hail in our area, but mostly rain, it wasn't too bad. Then in between 2 and 3 we moved to Lacey's house for dinner cause it still had power. Storm 3 was the doozy, but it wasn't all that bad where we were, so we had no idea. Storm 3 is when the bulk of the 300+ tornados ripped through northern Alabama and southeast Tennessee. The results were devastating...just look at any newscast from the day. Here's some pics from the Yerbey family day...

went to the grocery store for a few things between #2 & 3
